What Chuck Wore  

Always one to shamelessly jump on an American Teen bandwagon (although now 22), I was almost immediately addicted to Gossip Girl. From his first girl-totting appearance, Chuck Bass caught my eye as my kind of guy. Glancing at his apparel, it would be difficult to ignore the obvious. This guy’s got style.  

Ever since this realisation, Gossip Girl has been all about Chuck’s outfits. Blair’s bitchiness and Serena’s melodramas are second fiddle. Sporting endless snappy blazers in bright red, orange or black, old school bow ties and silk scarves with his eponymous initials, Mr Bass is ever the dandy. Indeed, he dresses more like an Oscar Wilde bad lad than an Upper East Side prepster.  

His palette stretches from the brightest hues (check out those yellow pants!) to the subtle complexities of grey scale, and his penchant for accessorising has seen many successful outfits. Just look at that daintily tucked paisley handkerchief at the Bass wedding, or the patterned headscarf he wore when jogging with Nate. Chuck’s clothing mirrors equivocally his famous motto, “I’m Chuck Bass,” and in comparison to conventional Nate and ruffian Dan, he is playing ball with only the girls in the fashion stakes. 

Now I have stumbled upon an entire blog dedicated to this subject. What Chuck Wore documents all his show stopping ensembles from episode to episode so fans can divulge their views on his attire. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that’s noticed.
