Softening the Effect

Tomas Falmer is a Scandinavian photographer that I recently came across while browsing online. I was struck by his strong visuals despite the muted tone of the images. His elegant choice of colours and the dreamy styling are what really grabbed me. Viewing the work of Tomas Falmer felt like a pleasant change providing a break from the hyper reality that characterizes recent fashion photography.

Falmer's world is a slightly fairytale reality, characterized by Scandinavian simplicity and minimalism. The above images radiate this softness and offer tranquility. It is almost as if he is inviting fashion to nature or nature is calling the fashion world, with the natural element becoming one with the garments which you watch blossom, creating a real anticipation for spring.
