To Floral or not to Floral?
Skirts, Bangles, Long-Johns - my sartorial pursuits are currently bounding off in all sorts of directions. Yesterday I was extolling the benefits of a deluge of black and grey, and today I'm considering a dalliance into red and pink toned florals. Blame >bmm magazine then for this sudden shift in aesthetic aspirations, as John Colver's recent editorial photographed by Vicky Trombetta has got me reaching for long forgotten floral wonders.
I've never been able to kick my floral habit, spending my university days seeking out a none-too-vintage, non-grannyish incarnation of a floral shirt, but in recent months I've been abandoning colour and print and reaching for the black. The above image though - its stark cleanliness juxtaposed by nineties grunge connotations - provides a way to tussle with my floral collection without diverting too far from the safe haven of neutrals.
An almost less textural equivalent of Casely Hayford's wrapped arms and necks for Spring/Summer, who knows where this floral pursuit will lead. Next stop...head to toe?
