Viktor and Rolf
It’s not very often, or ever, that a website will hit me with the same kind of awe inspired gasp that say a perfect photo or an emotional piece of music does, but today a website did just that. I usually find that websites for designers either don’t hold enough information, or that they are too over the top and complicated and still don’t hold enough information.
I decided to check out Viktor and Rolf’s website today, and it really is like stepping into their world. That’s what I love so much about Viktor and Rolf; they take every little detail into consideration, from the ethos behind a collection to the stunning impact of their shows. There is even a soundtrack as you wander through which just adds to the atmosphere on every level.
The website is like stepping into a mysterious house that you’re not supposed to be in, tip toeing around, uncovering treasures like all of their shows in either video or photo format. This can be found in the library where Viktor and Rolf (and their two puppies) take you personally! It almost feels like I’m playing a computer game, but instead of entering a level where I have to shoot targets with an AK47, I enter a beautiful white room to view the latest Viktor and Rolf show, front row. It’s a definite nod to their exhibition ‘The House of Viktor and Rolf’ which was perfectly crafted in every single way – just like this website.
