Dressing Superheroes

On Monday Stefan Orschel-Read began the first of his guest contributions to Fashion156's blog this week. We interviewed him on Monday as Stefan discussed his desire to bring menswear to Chanel and how he would love to dress Virginia Woolf in his designs. Talking about his SS11 collection entitled 'The Spy who becomes me' we learnt that if a spy Stefan would be William Melville. Considering how Orschel-Read has always incorporated elements of superheroes costumes into its designs from the volumous inverse triangle trousers that could be seen at SS10 to the AW10 sleeves that seemed adept for flying we decided to ask Stefan, if he could dress any superheroes in Orschel-Read who would he choose and why and most importanly what would they wear?

Superheroe's in Orschel-Read.

1. I chose to dress Wolverine from X-Men in the Fin Blazer and Deertracker Trousers due to the similarity between the peaked sleeves of the blazer and Wolverine's own shoulder armour.

2. Juggernaut was given the MCroc Collegiate as its one of the toughest and most armour-like pieces I have made reflecting the X-Men villain Juggernaut's toughness and "unstoppable momentum".

3. The almost 'unhinged' silhouette of the Woodcarrier was chosen to represent the Green Goblin's insanity.
