Holly Fulton AW10- Juxtaposed Clash
Inspired by the cinema du look of the 80's and the monochrome works of glass artist Louis Barillet, Holly Fulton's AW10 collection is a spectacle of graphic print, faceted gems and luxe detailing. Swarovski elements make another appearance adding the essential Fulton sparkle whilst new fabrics such as snakeskin and suede give her aesthetic a new luxe edge. The rail looked simply vivid at the recent press day and attracted all the visitors like moths to a fluorescent bulb!
I adore the little story that accompanies the collection on Holly's website, that creates a visual story book in the mind of a scene at the "Garde Du Nord" as a deserted lady waits for her lover. The description of the Fulton woman who has "thrown on clothes that she feels at ease in" and is ultimately "nonchalant" is a character that any girl would aspire to emulate.
Favourite pieces of the collection included a shocking turquoise snake shift which felt cold and luxurious to the touch and a fur clutch that felt just as luxe and all the more indulgent. Creating the perfect example of juxtaposed clash, I cannot wait to see more from Holly Fulton in September.
