Michael Sontag
What attracts me to Michael's work is its cleanness. And don't confuse the 'cleanness' for 'minimalism', because there is more than understatement that makes his work alluring. Balloons and breezy fabrics are replaced by more structured and clean cut lines in his AW/11 collection which screams relaxed Berlin cool, yet at the same time plays with more masculine and twisted office looks that would work great within the hasty pace of any metropolis. Natural fabrics like wool, thick cotton and silk complement the earthy quality of his designs.
Reminding me of the 'controlled' sexuality and masculine beauty of Katharine Hepburn, my favorite piece of the collection are the high-waisted, wide-legged pants he created in a beautiful cream and which you can see above.
