Lulu Wolf
I have found that there are few artists whose entire bodies of work can be described as elegant. The nature of art means it is often a very forceful process and such passions hardly escape impacting a piece. Consequently, the work of Lulu Wolf is a beautiful rarity. Her manipulation of vintage magazine clippings, to which she adds new shapes and forms, appear entirely effortless. They are chic collages with imaginative twists. By not completely overwhelming the original purpose of the images she alters, Lulu manages to imbue her fantasy works with an glow of realism. In this sense, her images are simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic, considered though they appear careless. Above all other things, however, Lulu Wolf’s images are truly, madly enchanting. My best-loved piece is entitled 'space-travel' and depicts a young swimmer diving into imaginary waters, which has an undeniable timeless quality to it.
