London Fashion Week SS11 - Rui Leonardes

Moving away from Somerset House and hopping on the tube to Goodge Street, a trip to the Dutch Pop-Up space, celebrating a host of creative natives, saw me pitched into a Rui Leonardes experience. Pre-empting an installation set to run until October 2nd, a black body bag - crew neck, zipper running down the front, split into legs and pointed toe boots - signalled a signature delve into the dark and macabre.

In a predominant black colorway, long line leather t-shirts, knee and mirco length shorts, floor sweeping frock coats, coated denim jeans incorporating cuban heeled booots and stiff organza t-shirts paired with bulky bovver boots, paint flecked hair and pale, red-eyed faces constituted an eerie, unflinching severity and Rui's very own 'Asylum'.
