London Fashion Week SS11 - Henry Holland

Henry Holland

Henry Holland’s must be the only one of LFW shows where the audience is dancing in their seats. My Beautiful City provided the ‘club’ style venue transforming an old post office into an energetic underground party infused with current Hip-Hop and old school classics. The front row audience (wearing HH) cheered as the designer put on a 70’s disco collection of star embossed light denim flares and playsuits, copper and metallic ra-ra skirts and pleat-heavy asymmetrical cocktail dresses.

Resembling Barbies, the models stomped down the stage with fur handcuff earrings, foil embossed backpacks and tassel clutches. Last season’s bandana print was translated into a safari fusion of violets, aqua’s and deep greens, embellished with long-line fringing and miniature fur waist-belts on skinny jackets. The focus on the balloon trouser was a personal highlight – done especially well in a grey marl jumper with flashes of mint, while exaggerated pleats on long-sleeve denim overalls were another stand out. Fragile knee-length dresses in gold formed the eveningwear, and closed with a floor-length deep purple gown – a show that was a succinct execution for the growing brand.
