Introducing Julia Pencakowska: Fashion Photographer
Inspired by Peter Lindbergh and Paolo Roversi, her photography has both the emotionally engaging qualities of a portrait and the undeniable chic of a fashion photograph. Her work encapsulates the subject’s personality and contextualises the clothes within their story. From this, a raw honesty is born that I feel is too often forgotten in fashion photography today.
 
Despite being only 23, Pencakowska’s images are rich with the flavour of life experience. Authenticity is key and within the photographs, clothes become a true synonym of the subject's character. Luckily for us, she is at the very beginning of her career and will hopefully continue to breath life into many fashionable garments.
