Hermione de Paula's Asian Adventure Day 4: Gorillas in the Mist

DAY 4 GORILLA’S IN THE MIST

So having adjusted to the neon-tastic lights of Tokyo, we decided to have a retreat to experience some of the traditional aspects to Japan. Seeing as we were on a research trip we decided to try out a Harajuku style school outfit, here’s Hermione checking out some crosswords for the ride.

We embarked on an excursion to Hakone, a popular resort an hour away from Tokyo to try the Japanese Onsen (hot mineral baths) and gather some natural inspiration for Hermione de Paula prints.

The journey is via ‘romance car’ train, it’s a pink train, which definitely appealed to us! Even the seats are pink! Everything matches Madeleine’s hair!

The train was so retro, and we were surprised to see the driver sitting in the cockpit at the top of the train, accessed by a mini ladder!

We thought we’d treat ourselves to a snack on the train, loved the art direction for the menu.

We were lucky to have the best seats in the house, V.I.P right at the front, the sun setting was beautiful with mount Fuji in the background.
