Back to the Future

With temperatures as they are I’m breathing a sigh of relief that AW11 is starting to trickle through as looking at SS11 right now is giving me brain freeze. Elliot recently released his AW11 collection and while it is not exactly heavy on layers it leaves you feeling a touch warmer than the sheers of SS11.

The aesthetic is undeniably 60’s sci-fi and nods to Pierre Cardin as you can picture this model and her clones roaming around in Woody Allen’s Sleeper.

I love the softness of the colours which almost appear to blur into one other at times and how camel and classic dress is made interesting though layering and subtle print.

I also notice that the inverted u shape that we put the focus on in our hype section this issue makes an appearance demonstrating how this trend shall be remaining with us for some time to come.

This collection I feel applies futurism to a more classic style resulting in directional yet wearable pieces.
