Frode & Marcus: Mount RGB
My current addiction is Frode & Marcus. Evident as it may be from my recent splurge of obsessive blogging about them, I just had to write this last little entry out about their fitting series entitled ‘Mount RGB’. With plumes of coloured smoke being the stylist’s ‘accessory of choice’ for the coming seasonal influx of ‘wild’ furs and exotic pairings, these images are getting me geared up for an AW season of RGB living.
Whilst shooting our current ‘Couture Campers’ editorial, everyone on set was excited in anticipation for just one final theatrical addition… ‘THE SMOKE’. None more so than our two boys Sebastian and Andre who whooped and high fived as we announced it was ‘Time For The Smoke.” The colours we got were phenomenal. From these deceptively insignificant pellets of colour, came mass plumes of bellowing smoke that were in danger of inducing a police search and rescue mission in the depths of the Hampstead Heath woodland!
Upon finding this series by Frode & Marcus I was again reminded of the excitement of those last few shots on shoot day and energy that seemed to flood and spread through the forest as visibly as the smoke itself. Which made me think; there’s nothing that excites humans more, in such an uncontrollable caveman-like manner, than a point of combustive, bellowing light… perhaps highlighting the primitive nature in all of us as ‘Couture Campers’.
