I am a young man and a devoted follower of fashion, I noticed a lot of
studding on the catwalks for this season, but I haven’t come across any
on the high street, I cant spend too much either what do you suggest?
When the high street fails you and you can’t find what you’re looking for in vintage shops I suggest you take matters into your own hands, and try to create your ideal looks yourself. Take a plain white shirt and concentrate on a small area like the collar or straight down the front along the buttons, you can buy studs from a haberdashery shop or from eBay. Trust me this is full proof and will create a totally individual and dramatic look.

Approaching autumn what shoes do you suggest, I hear that over the knee
boots are in fashion but I don’t want to raise too many eyebrows in the
office.
Absolutely, over the knee boots are going to be huge this winter. For the brave and adventurous there is the thigh high four-inch numbers that certainly will have heads spinning. But if you want a subtler approach that won’t cause such a stir in the office I suggest the flat version that just tip over the knee that are available at Topshop, worn over black jeans or with some simple shorts, maybe in a floral Liberty print pattern. If you cant stretch to Liberty’s own designs then have a look at their collaborations with Topshop, wearing floral should keep the whole look quite sweet and feminine try and avoid anything shiny and black!

With winter coming I need a cool new winter coat that is ideally waterproof. Could you offer any advice?
Seeing plenty of parkas on the S/S10 catwalks you could be a step ahead and indulge in one for A/W, American Apparel have a great lightweight number both in a stripy pattern and plain. Another important shape for men this A/W is the exaggerated shoulder leading into a trend for a generally oversized torso; wearing a bomber jacket can easily reflect this. Uniqlo currently have a great one that I’m sure is waterproof too. The trend for quilted jackets that was around last year will continue, great versions are available from Barbour. At the high end of the spectrum Christopher Raeburn has produced some amazing modern waterproof parkas, anoraks and bomber jackets.
